SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
On 25 September 2015, countries adopted a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each Goal has specific goals to be achieved over the next 15 years.
17 goals to transform our world Governments, business and civil society together with the United Nations have begun to mobilize efforts to achieve the sustainable development agenda by 2030. The agenda calls for action by all countries to improve the lives of all peoples in a universal, inclusive and indivisible way. In 2015, countries adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. In 2016, the Paris Agreement on climate change went into effect, addressing the need to limit the rise in global temperatures.
